กลุ่มเพื่อนต่อต้านเผด็จการ (Friends Against Dictatorship: FAD) ออกแถลงการณ์ประณามกองทัพพม่าทำรัฐประหารปล้นอำนาจประชาชนและใช้ความรุนแรงปราบปรามผู้ประท้วง พร้อมรัฐบาลไทยที่เมินเฉยต่อการรัฐประหาร
แถลงการณ์กลุ่มเพื่อนต่อต้านเผด็จการ (FAD)
นับตั้งแต่เกิดรัฐประหารล้มล้างผลการเลือกตั้งทั่วไปเมื่อวันที่ 1 กุมภาพันธ์ 2564 ประชาชนชาวเมียนมาทั้งในประเทศเมียนมา ประเทศไทยและต่างประเทศได้ออกมาใช้สิทธิทางการเมืองประท้วงไม่ยอมรับการรัฐประหาร เรียกร้องให้กองทัพยอมรับผลการเลือกตั้ง และดำเนินการจัดตั้งรัฐบาลที่มาจากการเลือกตั้งตามเจตนารมณ์ทางการเมืองของประชาชน
เป็นระยะร่วม 1 เดือนเต็ม ที่ประชาชนชาวเมียนมายังคงประท้วง และคณะผู้นำรัฐประหารได้ใช้อำนาจจับกุมดำเนินคดีผู้ประท้วง มีการบุกเข้าไปจับกุมในบ้านพักและสถานที่ส่วนบุคคล มีการยิงแก๊สน้ำตา ใช้กระสุนยาง และกระสุนจริงยิงเข้าใส่กลุ่มผู้ประท้วงในหลายพื้นที่ เช่น เนปิดอว์ ย่างกุ้ง มัณฑะเลย์ มิตจีนา ทวาย และที่อื่น ๆ เป็นเหตุให้มีผู้ได้บาดเจ็บและเสียชีวิต ตามการรายงานของสมาคมช่วยเหลือนักโทษการเมือง ( Assistance Association for Political Prisoners :AAPP) ณ วันที่ 24 กุมภาพันธ์ มีผู้ชุมนุมถูกจับกุมไปแล้วทั้งสิ้น 728 คน และณ วันที่ 25 กุมภาพันธ์ 2564 มีผู้เสียชีวิตรวม 8 คน หนึ่งในนั้นเป็นเยาวชนอายุต่ำกว่า 18 ปี ถูกยิงด้วยกระสุนปืนจริงที่ศีรษะ มีผู้ได้รับบาดเจ็บและถูกจับกุมอีกเป็นจำนวนมาก การปราบปรามคงเกิดขึ้นต่อเนื่องและมีแนวโน้มรุนแรงมากขึ้น ล่าสุด วันที่ 27 ปรากฎภาพข่าวใน The Irrawaddy – Burmese Edition ว่า ตำรวจได้เล็งปลายกระบอกปืนในระยะประชิดใส่เจ้าหน้าที่แพทย์อาสาในพื้นที่ชุมชนที่ย่างกุ้ง
ด้วยสถานการณ์ความรุนแรงที่เกิดขึ้นจากการกระทำอุกอาจของเจ้าหน้าที่ทางการเมียนมาในขณะนี้ กลุ่มเพื่อนต่อต้านเผด็จการ (Friends Against Dictatorship: FAD) จึงขอประณามกองทัพพม่าที่ทำรัฐประหารปล้นอำนาจประชาชนและใช้ความรุนแรงปราบปรามผู้ประท้วง และประมาณรัฐบาลไทยที่เมินเฉยต่อการรัฐประหารและการใช้ความรุนแรงปราบปรามผู้ประท้วงในเมียนมา โดยเมื่อวันที่ 24 กุมภาพันธ์ที่ผ่านมา ไทยเป็นชาติแรกในโลกที่เชิญและให้การต้อนรับตัวแทนทางการทูตของคณะรัฐประหารเมียนมาในนามสภาบริหารแห่งรัฐ (State Administration Council: SAC) ที่ปล้นอำนาจประชาชนไป
ประชาคมโลกไม่ควรยอมรับการรัฐประหาร และไม่ควรอดทนต่อความรุนแรงที่รัฐบาลทหารทำต่อประชาชน กลุ่มเพื่อนต่อต้านเผด็จการ (FAD) มีข้อเรียกร้อง ดังนี้
1. รัฐบาลไทย ประชาคมอาเซียน และประชาคมโลก ควรประณามรัฐบาลทหาร และแสวงหาความร่วมมือทุกวิถีทางเพื่อหยุดยั้งการใช้ความรุนแรงปราบปรามผู้ประท้วงในเมียนมา
2. รัฐบาลไทยต้องไม่รับรองรัฐบาลทหารพม่า ยุติการลงทุนหรือการร่วมทุนกับรัฐบาลทหาร และสนับสนุนการฟื้นฟูประชาธิปไตยในเมียนมาโดยเร็ว
3. ประชาคมอาเซียนต้องไม่รับรองรัฐบาลทหารพม่า แสดงจุดยืนร่วมกันจะสนับสนุนการฟื้นฟูประชาธิปไตยในเมียนมาโดยเร็ว การที่ประชาคมอาเซียนมีนโยบายการไม่แทรกแซงกิจการภายในของประเทศสมาชิกนั้น ไม่ได้หมายความว่า ต้องให้การรับรองการรัฐประหาร และไม่มีความจำเป็นต้องเปิดบ้านต้อนรับผู้แทนเผด็จการทหารเมียนมา
4. เรียกร้องต่อประชาคมโลก ไม่ควรมีชาติใดให้การรับรองรัฐบาลทหารเมียนมา ทุกประเทศควรแสวงหาความร่วมมือในการดำเนินมาตรการทุกวิถีทางเพื่อกดดันประเทศที่แสดงท่าทีจะให้การรับรองรัฐบาลทหารพม่า และร่วมกันสนับสนุนให้เกิดการฟื้นฟูประชาธิปไตยในเมียนมาโดยเร็ว
5. คณะรัฐประหารในนามสภาบริหารแห่งรัฐจะต้องยุติการใช้ความรุนแรงทุกรูปแบบต่อประชาชน และรับฟังความต้องการของประชาชนอย่างทั่วถึง

| Public Statement of Friends Against Dictatorship (FAD) 28 February 2021, Bangkok, Thailand Myanmar military dictatorship condemned for violent crackdown on pro-democracy demonstrators Thai government condemned for welcoming the Myanmar’s Foreign Minister ASEAN and International Community Urged to not recognize the Myanmar Military Junta In the wake of the military coup to quash the elections results on 1 February 2021, Myanmar people in the country, in Thailand and other countries have exercised their political right to oppose the coup. They demand that the military accept the election results and the formation of a government elected by the people. For the entire one month, the people of Myanmar throng the streets while the coup makers have used its power to arrest and prosecute the protesters. The authorities have raided homes and private residence, fired teargas and both rubber and live ammunitions at the protesters in various areas including in Naypyidaw. Yangon, Mandalay, Myitkyina, Dawei, and others causing injuries and deaths. According to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), as of 24 February, 728 individuals have been arrested and as of 25 February 2021, eight people have been killed including a minor younger than 18 years old who was shot with live bullets on his head. A number of people have got injured or arrested. The crackdown continues unabated and appears to become more violent. Lately on 27 February, based on the photo published by The Irrawaddy – Burmese Edition, a police official pointed his gun at point blank range at a volunteer medic in a neighborhood in Yangon. Given the escalating violence and egregious response of the Myanmar authorities, the Friends Against Dictatorship (FAD) condemns the Myanmar Army for staging the coup to seize power from the people and violently suppressing the protesters. We also condemn the Thai government for showing indifference to the military coup and the violent crackdown on the protesters in Myanmar. On the past 24 February, Thailand became the first nation in the world to invite and host a diplomatic representative from the coup makers, the State Administration Council (SAC) which has stolen power from the people. International community must not recognize the coup and shall not tolerate the violent suppression against the people by the junta. FAD has the following demands; 1. The Thai government, ASEAN and international community should condemn the Myanmar military junta and explore any possible collaboration to stop the use of violence to suppress the protesters in Myanmar. 2. The Thai government must not recognize the Myanmar military junta, suspend any investment or joint investment with the military junta and help to promptly restore democracy in Myanmar. 3. ASEAN must not recognize the Myanmar military junta and concertedly voice their support for the prompt restoration of democracy in Myanmar. By upholding the principle of non-interference, it does not mean that we must recognize a military coup. And there is no need to host a meeting with representatives from the Myanmar military junta. 4. No countries in the world should recognize the Myanmar military junta. Every country should explore collaboration to mete out any measure to put pressure on any country that appears to want to recognize the Myanmar military junta. And collaboration must be made to promptly restore democracy in Myanmar. 5.
