The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation has partnered with a network of both government and private sector organizations to organize the SCI-POWER FOR FUTURE THAILAND fair. This event aims to promote the use of higher education, science, research, and innovation as a means of sustainable development for the Thai economy, utilizing the power of interdisciplinarity. The fair will provide opportunities for attendees to enhance their skills and knowledge in science and innovation to meet international standards. It will also showcase Thailand’s potential for economic development through higher education, science, research, and innovation, while serving as a platform for knowledge and experience exchange. The event will take place from July 22nd to 28th, 2024 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), and admission is free for those interested.
On July 22nd, 2024, the University of Phayao attended an event where Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, along with Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Santiwat Pithakpol, the Director of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Institute, and Associate Professor Dr. Phaninthara Teeranon, Assistant to the President, were present. The event, titled “Career for Future,” was opened by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in His Majesty the King. The Division of Educational Services, represented by Associate Professor Dr. Watchara Laenoi, Assistant to the President and Head Officer for Curriculum and Admissions, presented the University of Phayao’s preparation of the Skills Transcript for the Master of Science Program in Occupational Health and Safety. This project is under the operation of the Social Innovation Driving Unit for Upper Northern Society (SID) at the University of Phayao. Additionally, the University of Phayao participated in four project exhibitions from July 26th to 28th, 2024 at the SITE 2014 zone of the National Innovation Agency (NIA). These projects included plasma innovation to increase the durability of natural dyes and an innovative health kombucha tea product made from leftovers from the craft soda cocoa production process.
The University of Phayao, in collaboration with the Program Management Unit on Area Based Development (PMU A), organized a series of urban work workshops. The first workshop, titled “Border City” and led by Assistant Professor Dr. Somchart Thana, was held in conference room R210CD. The second workshop, titled “Learning City” and led by Associate Professor Dr. Phanintra Teeranon and the City Management Unit, was held in conference room R210AB. Additionally, the Innovation and Technology Transfer Institute organized a training workshop for 70 researchers who received Learning City grants from PMU A. This workshop took place in conference room R210AB on July 23rd and 24th, 2024.
The Innovation and Technology Transfer Institute, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Santhiwat Phitakphon, Director of the Institute, and Miss Kanpitcha Panya, Institute Manager, organized a project from July 22nd to 26th, 2024 to raise awareness, image and experient knowledge sharing for Agriculture Innovation Business Incubator Network. This project was a joint effort between the Regional Science Park (RSP) and the Agri-Aqua Business Incubation Network of the Philippines, Inc. (AABINPhil, Inc.), with cooperation from the University of Phayao, Maejo University, Mae Fah Luang University, and Benguet State University. The project was supported by the Office of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.
