The University of Phayao is currently involved in the Project on Community Resilience against Livelihood Instability and Financial Insecurity of Older People in Asia Pacific – RCRP II.

On May 28, 2024, Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, President of the University of Phayao, assigned Associate Professor Dr. Phanintra Teeranon, Assistant to the President, to participate in the “Community Resilience against Livelihood Instability and Financial Insecurity of Older People in Asia Pacific – RCRP II” project in Chiang Mai Province. This project is a collaboration between the University of Phayao and the Foundation for Older Persons’ Development (FOPDEV), with support from the Tsao Foundation in Singapore. The project is being carried out in four countries: Thailand, Singapore, India, and the Philippines.           

The research team from the University of Phayao is led by Associate Professor Dr. Patcharawan Srisilapanan, Dean of the School of Dentistry, who serves as the research team advisor. The project leaders include Dr. Napaporn Iamlaor and Dr. Neeranuch Wongcharoen from the School of Nursing. Researchers from the School of Liberal Arts, including Assistant Professor Dr. Khomkrich Tachom and Dr. Singhakham Rakpa, are also involved. A team of researchers from Singapore, including Dr. Su Aw, Ms. Joanna Tan, and other team members, are also participating in this meeting.           

The goal of the project, titled “Community Resilience against Livelihood Instability and Financial Insecurity of Older People in Asia Pacific – RCRP II,” is to improve the aging experience. This involves promoting a mindset that encourages systematic change through innovative approaches to elder care within the community. Additionally, the project aims to provide training, education, and research on policy related to aging. By 2025, the project will also be expanded to include Phayao Province.
