On Sunday, March 24th, 2024, Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, President of the University of Phayao, presided over the annual blanket procession ceremony at Phra That Chom Thong Pagoda, University of Phayao. Assistant Professor Dr. Chittima Kaweera, Dean of the School of Liberal Arts, reported that the event featured a procession of blankets containing relics. This tradition, organized collaboratively by the School of Liberal Arts, School of Education, School of Political and Social Science, along with Wat Si Khom Kham, royal temple, Phayao Province, Phayao Municipality, Phayao Provincial Culture Office, Phayao Provincial Office of Buddhism, as well as various governmental and private sector organizations in Phayao Province, aims to enhance community development and preserve cultural traditions. Upholding the university’s mission of preserving arts and culture, this event seeks to instill good values in students and provide them with opportunities for creative expression, aligning with the university’s aspirations of “Wisdom for Community Empowerment” and vision “University to Create Wisdom for Sustainable Community Development with Innovations of International Standards.”
