The University of Phayao has been ranked 9th out of 59 universities in Thailand and 106th worldwide, out of a total of 1,477 universities worldwide, in the UI Green Metric World University Rankings 2024. This is a significant improvement from last year’s score of 8,200 points, with a total of 8,450 points earned.
The UI Green Metric World University Rankings assesses universities on their dedication to sustainable development through six main criteria. The University of Phayao’s scores for each indicator in 2024 are listed below:
1. Setting and Infrastructure: 1,225 points (unchanged from last year)
2. Energy and Climate Change: 1,675 points (up from 1,525 points last year)
3. Waste Management: 1,350 points (unchanged from last year)
4. Water Management: 850 points (unchanged from last year)
5. Transportation: 1,650 points (up from 1,625 points last year)
6. Education and Research: 1,700 points (up from 1,625 points last year)
These criteria align with the university’s Strategic Goal 5, which focuses on developing a modern, efficient, transparent, and accountable management system. Specifically, Objective 5.4 aims to position the university as a globally recognized eco-friendly green university.
The ranking results reflect the University of Phayao’s commitment to sustainability in all dimensions, including environmental conservation, energy efficiency, waste management, green space development, and the promotion of sustainability initiatives at both community and global levels.
The University of Phayao has demonstrated progress and excellence across all indicators, particularly in Energy and Climate Change, where significant improvements have been made.
