On October 5th, 2024, the Division of General Affairs and Corporate Communications organized the first Traveling Coffee Council event for media networks and community leaders as part of the Corporate Public Relations and Communication Network project for the 2025 fiscal year. This event aimed to facilitate connections between administrators and personnel from the University of Phayao and community leaders in Mae Ka Subdistrict, as well as media representatives from Phayao Province.
Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, the President of the University of Phayao, warmly welcomed the participants and present the policy for the “One Faculty, One Innovation Community” Initiative in the Mae Ka Area. The policy aims to enhance local development through collaboration between the university and the Mae Ka community. And was honored by Mr. Nikorn Yakajai, the presence of the District Chief of Phayao and Mr. Priyat Suwan, the village head of Mae Ka Subdistrict, represented the community leaders who speak about the collaboration and support provided to the operations of both the community and the University of Phayao.
At this event, The University of Phayao showcased projects from various departments that have actively engaged with the community. These projects aimed to demonstrate their operational plans in the area, and are outlined below:
• The project “Developing Health-Oriented Agricultural Learning Spaces for Enhanced Well-being in Ban Huai Khian” by Assistant Professor Dr. Rattapoom Phromna, Deputy Director of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Institute, University of Phayao.
• The project “Energy Technology Learning Spaces for Agriculture” by Dr. Poramet Sitthisan, School of Energy and Environment.
• The project “Health Communication Innovation: Transforming Worn Smiles into Bright Smiles” by Associate Professor Dr. Patcharawan Srisilpanan, Dean of the School of Dentistry.
• Community Collaboration “Integrating Teaching and Learning with Community Health Services” in Village No. 6, Ban Mae Ka Huai Khian, led by Dr. Neeranuch Wongcharoen, lecturer in Community Health Nursing, School of Nursing.
• Community Collaboration “Curriculum Development at Putthipat Center, Learning Center for the Elderly, Wat Mae Ka Huai Khian” by Associate Professor Dr. prayong jandaeng, Lecture in the School of Political Science and Social Sciences.
The purpose of this event was to support the community’s development of knowledge, technology, and innovation in order to enhance their quality of life in a sustainable manner (Societal & Well-being). This aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promotes multidimensional development in areas such as income, health, environment, education, and social quality. Ultimately, the goal is to improve the community’s overall quality of life and well-being.
